Mrs. Leanne Heinselman foley
waynesville high school art teacher
I have been a professional art teacher since January 1977 after graduating from Miami University with a Bachelor's of Science in Art Education. I taught in the Little Miami School district for ten years, earned a Master degree in Education and a Master degree in Art Therapy from Wright State University and then made a career change within the art field from teacher to art therapist. As an art therapist I worked within the schools, local mental health agencies, nursing home facilities and private practice encouraging individuals to engage in the art process with goals other than art education.
Since December 2001 I have been teaching high school art at Waynesville High School while also returning to my passion as an artist. I bring my belief in the ability of everyone to be creative and to gain a greater sense of "self" and personal reward from the experience of art making.
A National Board Certified teacher in art / early adolescence through young adult since 2007 I look forwards to what my students and I might discover together.
